It is indeed a privilege to testify to the healings and many blessings which I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. Before coming into Science I had medical aid constantly, for I had been subject to bronchitis from childhood. Doctors told my parents that I should always be subject to this ailment, and advised them to keep me in a dry climate. But as we traveled a great deal this was impossible; so I spent most of my childhood days in bed, covered in flannels. After I became a student of Christian Science this ailment disappeared into its native nothingness merely through reading the Christian Science textbook. I have also been healed of periodic sore throat and many miserable traits of character, such as envy, resentment, false pride, faultfinding, and sensitiveness. Pyorrhea was healed in a few days' treatment by a practitioner. I am grateful to the dear friend who first brought Christian Science to me nineteen years ago.
Six years ago I found myself without work. This seemed quite a trial to me, as I had always been kept actively employed, but, as Mrs. Eddy says on page 66 of our textbook, "trials are proofs of God's care," and they have proved just that to me. Trials taught me to look to God and not to person for my supply, and my every need has been abundantly met.
I am grateful for clear class teaching: it has meant much to me. I am also grateful for the Christian Science literature; for the revised Hymnal; for every activity of The Mother Church; and for the blessed privilege of helping others. I pray daily to be worthy of the name "Christian Scientist." I cannot express in words my love and gratitude for our beloved Leader.—Chicago, Illinois.
