OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL

From the April 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Teachers, officers, and students should find joy, enlightenment, inspiration, and progress through the Christian Science Sunday School. All the activities of The Mother Church exist that thought may grow more and more spiritual, and that all, including the young people, may gain an understanding of spiritual facts, their ever-availability, and the God-bestowed and eternal ability of each one to know and utilize these spiritual facts.

The usefulness of the Sunday school is according to the ever growing spiritual understanding of the teachers, officers, and pupils, and the inspiration, spiritual joy, graciousness tenderness, and freedom expressed by all. Love of God, love of humanity, love of the healing power of Mind, love of the spiritual, love and appreciation of both Christ Jesus and Mrs. Eddy, are needed in our Sunday school.

Can one wisely accept the position of teacher in a Christian Science Sunday School until he has asked himself whether he means to be at his post regularly? If teachers are prone to be absent from Sunday school, this may seem discouraging to students, and often to their parents; and it may give error an opportunity to suggest to pupils and parents that irregular attendance on the part of pupils is justifiable and excusable.
