It is not possible for me to find adequate words with which to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I took up the study after witnessing the healing of my mother of chronic heart and stomach trouble, from which she had suffered for many years. At the time when she seemed to be passing on we were living abroad. After every material remedy had failed, we turned to Christian Science as a last resource, and my mother was instantaneously healed in one treatment. This healing was regarded as a miracle by friends who knew of her condition. I shall never forget the peace and joy that came to me as the practitioner explained that we are living in the eternal now—in infinite Life and Love, wherein death is unknown. Since that time we have experienced many other healings. Chronic constipation, swollen glands, tonsillitis, laryngitis, indigestion, and headaches are only a few of the many ills that have disappeared through the realization of the truth. It has been our experience that trials are most certainly "proofs of God's care" (Science and Health, p. 66). A harmonious home and supply have been ours through steadfast adherence to Truth.
Previous to my coming into Science my ambition in life was to attain fame in my profession. Since I learned something of the true value of things, my chief desire has been to reflect and express God, divine Mind. I am learning to overcome criticism through the understanding that in a perfect, spiritual universe there is nothing to criticize.
I wish to express my sincere appreciation of all the periodicals, for the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly, for the lectures, and for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church. I shall never cease to express gratitude for all the blessings that have come to me, but above all I am grateful for the desire to know and live this Science of being as revealed to us by our inspired Leader.—New York, New York.
