HARMONIOUS AND IMMORTAL HOME

From the March 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Some of the tenderest and sweetest thoughts of men cluster around the word "home." It is fraught with universal and continuous appeal, for everyone has some appreciation, for everyone has some of affection, security, joy, peace, and supply. Indeed, it would be impossible to estimate the number of those whose lives have been blessed, beautified, and protected by the gracious ministrations of a happy home.

But sometimes, far from being a place of refuge and contentment, the home seems to become the center of intricate problems of human relationship, of disease, sorrow, and lack; and unless such conditions, due to wrong thinking, are met with vigorous and consistent declarations of Truth, even the experienced Christian Scientist may find himself accepting error's false laws in regard to environment and opportunity. It is, therefore, of advantage to the earnest student of this Science to review frequently the specific truths that apply to home.

On page 465 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy defines God in part as "infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love." And the Bible declares that "in him we live, and move, and have our being." The Mind in which we live, move, and have our being must be and is our true home. Thus we can with exactness declare that our true home is in Mind, in Spirit, in Life, in Love, and so on. Such declarations, even partially realized, open up a wealth of healing, adjusting, liberating thoughts that awaken us from the false concept of home.
