I am very grateful for all the good...

From the March 1939 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am very grateful for all the good that has come into my life since I took up the study of Christian Science, and I have long desired to express my gratitude through the periodicals.

My first contact with this Science came in 1929, when I was traveling. A friend wrote that she wished I had a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy with me. That was in October, and at Christmas time when I came home I borrowed a copy. While reading that evening, I was healed of the need of wearing glasses. One specialist had said that I should always have to wear them, while another said I might outgrow the need for them. It was also said that I had only one-third vision. I can honestly say that it was nothing but the truth that healed me.

This was my first healing, but I did not fully appreciate it, because it was not until October, 1933, that I withdrew my membership from an orthodox church and took up Christian Science study more earnestly. Since that time I have learned that "trials are proofs of God's care," as Mrs. Eddy says on page 66 of Science and Health. I have been healed of the effects of a very severe fall, a sprained ankle, colds, continual headaches, burns, depressed moods, and my general health is much better.
