Many years ago I was led to take up the study of Christian Science through a friend, who, seeing my need of a physical healing, asked me if I had ever heard of Christian Science. I had never heard the name before, but in my great need I turned to it for help, and in a very short time was healed of a so-called incurable disease. I am very grateful for this beautiful demonstration of healing.
About two years after this I had to prove again the healing efficacy of the truth. Another condition arose, seemingly as serious as the first, and this time in the form of a tumor. An examination was made by an eminent physician, who told me I should never be any better until an operation was performed. Again I went to the same loving practitioner, and again I had a complete and permanent healing. I have been very grateful for the love and patience shown me at that time by this dear worker in God's vineyard. After this healing I became an earnest student of Christian Science.
Since then, in our home, we have had many wonderful healings, such as of broken bones, dislocations, appendicitis, valvular heart trouble, and many minor ailments. One beautiful healing came to our son, when he was two and a half years old. He was suffering from some ailment, and we called a practitioner, who lovingly worked for us. The child, however, did not seem to respond to the treatment. A physician was called to diagnose his case, and said that it was glandular fever. We were also told that he must be removed at once to a hospital, and that an operation must be performed the next morning. To this we refused to agree. We called the practitioner, who lovingly went on with her work, and in a very short time the healing was complete.
