Herbert W. Beck, C.S.B., of Oakland, California, has been appointed by The Christian Science Board of Directors to the office of Manager of Committees on Publication for The Mother Church, succeeding the late Honorable C. Augustus Norwood, who ably and creditably filled the position for more than ten years. Through the healing of his father Mr. Beck became interested in Christian Science in 1887. and since 1902 has devoted himself entirely to Christian Science work. During the World War he served as a Christian Science chaplain in the United States Army. He was a member of the Normal class of the Christian Science Board of Education in December, 1925, and soon afterward returned to Oakland, his former home, where he has since been engaged in the teaching and practice of Christian Science. Mr. Beck will continue to hold his classes and Association in Oakland.
