COUNTLESS are those who have experienced healing of both sin and disease through the power of Christian Science. Many of these healings, though in some instances the maladies had been pronounced incurable by prominent medical practitioners, were instantaneous.
Today the Word, as spoken by the Nazarene, is again being made practical and provable, bringing to the world redemption and peace. Those redeemed from the thralldom of sinful, sickly, and dying illusions are, with hearts overflowing with gratitude to Christian Science, endeavoring to live lives of sincere devotion and consecrated service, as exemplified in the life and works of Christ Jesus. Thus their object is to demonstrate the Christ-method of divine healing.
The advancing Christian Scientist is ever desirous of higher unfoldment and a fuller understanding of God and His Christ, and so he is instant and steadfast in the prayerful effort which lifts thought heavenward, above the false testimony of sin and suffering. He knows that consecrated prayer is quick and powerful in dispelling doubts, fears, and ignorant beliefs. True prayer is spiritual discernment—seeing God and the man of His creation aright. In the measure that one obtains a clear spiritual vision of God, good, and of man as His expressed image, in that measure does the perturbed thought gain the assurance that man is always under God's divine control, always expressing infinite intelligence, power, and Love, and, therefore, is never identified with sin, sorrow, or disease. However, if one is to scale the height of spiritual consciousness, one must obey the command which calls for an ever-increasing understanding and a continuous application of Christian Science. Paul said, "Let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."
