Christian Science was brought to my attention by a neighbor many years ago. I did not take up the study at the time, but always made the mental reservation that if there were a desperate need in the family, I had something to turn to for help.
That time came when our daughter, then about eleven, was ill. We had had medical help for her for about a year and a half. The physician finally told us that the only thing we could do was to keep her as quiet as possible and on a diet, because of kidney trouble. He said there was no known medicine that would reach the kidneys, and if she lived another three years she would be a semi-invalid. I learned afterward that he did not expect her to live. I called a Christian Science practitioner, and in six weeks our daughter was permanently healed. She is now the mother of two healthy children.
One of my first healings was of an abscessed tooth. While I was having help for another difficulty, I had taken cold, and this was believed to have settled in my tooth. My face was swollen, but there was no pain; then in the night the abscess opened. The incision was about one eighth of an inch long and as clean as if lanced. It remained open and drained normally. The practitioner had not been told about the tooth. I have not had an abscessed tooth since, though I had experienced similar trouble several times prior to this healing.
