Testimonies of Healing

In the utilization and practice of...

From the September 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the utilization and practice of Christian Science we understand that the healing of a minor ailment or the harmonious adjustment of a slight misunderstanding between persons is as definite a proof of the dependability and exactitude of this Science as is the healing of a so-called incurable disease or the clearing up of a seemingly hopeless situation.

At times there may be a reluctance to give a testimony of the countless proofs of God's care and love for His children, because the experiences have not been of astonishing proportions. However, in the face of conditions or occurrences such as colds, accidents, and contacts with those who seem dishonest or irascible, we surely need the healing touch of our Father.

My first healing, accomplished when I was a little girl, came through a neighbor's spiritual understanding. I was throwing a fence picket, and a large rusty spike became embedded in my hand so tightly that my mother found it difficult to remove it. From the moment our neighbor was advised of the accident I felt no pain, and the healing was rapid.
