My heart overflows with gratitude to God for Christian Science, and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her faithful and patient work; also to the loving practitioners who have helped me.
About six years ago I was healed of mastoid trouble in the right ear, which caused me much pain for two months. I asked the practitioner who was treating me if she thought an operation was necessary. She replied that the only genuine operation was the operation of Truth. A few days later two openings appeared behind my ear, and it drained and healed completely. Christian Science proved to be a very efficient surgeon. The healing was slow, but it forced me to study diligently the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works. Much spiritual growth resulted from this healing.
Three years ago a decayed bone in my hand was healed. Blood poisoning had set in, and the inflammation reached to the shoulder. Discouragement and the fear of death tried to argue very strongly, but God's great healing love prevailed. The arm and hand resumed their natural size and color. With this healing came a clearer sense of joy and gratitude than I had ever before known.
