Having received so much benefit from reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I wish publicly to express gratitude through this means for the many blessings which the study and application of Christian Science have brought into my life, with the thought that perhaps my experience may be helpful to others.
Many years ago I witnessed a healing of tuberculosis of the bowels through Christian Science, and this must have in some way prepared my thought for the acceptance of this Science. When my last child was born the doctor told me that some day I should have to undergo an operation. Knowing of the healing previously mentioned, I mentally assured myself that when the time came, rather than submit to an operation I should resort to Christian Science. Some years later my condition became such that I was confined to my bed for seven weeks, under the care of a physician who did everything he could to help me, but finally told me that I must submit to an operation. Instead, I asked for help in Christian Science. My condition improved immediately. I was able to be up and about within three days, and in twenty days was entirely healed. I have never spent a whole day in bed since that time, which was twenty-two years ago.
During the next three years, through my own study, without any specific work, I was healed of constipation, nervous headache, and melancholy.
