KNOWING

From the January 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear Lord, when through the storm and strife
My upward-tending thought shall soar,
To know Thy peace, to dwell on Life,
Will keep me safe forevermore.

Dear Lord, amid the surging throng
Who blindly strive for place and power,
To walk with holy Love along
The way will comfort me each hour.

Dear Lord, when fear stalks by my side,
And night's deep shadows close on me,
I still shall know Thou art my guide
And confidently trust in Thee.

O Love, my thanks I humbly bring
And place before Thy throne of light,
For 'mid the tumult I can sing—
Exalted, reach the Horeb height.

And as I rise, with hands outspread
My brother man to heal and bless,
I'll walk the path the angels tread,
And know eternal happiness.
