One of the lovely hymns of the Christian Science Hymnal (No. 382) asks a very vital question: "What is thy birthright, man?"
At one time I was stricken with double pneumonia. The practitioner to whom I have turned for help for many years was vacationing with her husband fifteen hundred miles away, but I knew loving help would be given for the urgent need. On receiving our telegram, she began work immediately, and within a very short time the belief of death was annihilated. I did not see her until about two weeks later. During this time we had below zero weather. On page 162 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy tells us that "Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies." Because of difficulty in getting help in the home I did not have the best practical care, attention, and food, but every error that presented itself during this experience was dissolved by the power of Truth, and a perfect healing completed. I gained a wonderful lesson from this experience, which has enriched my vision and planted my feet more firmly in the way of Truth.
Many other blessings have come to me. Pleurisy, bronchial asthma, chicken pox, headaches, toothache, colds, weakness, despondency, despair, unemployment, and financial difficulties have all been healed by the power of Truth, and nearly all by absent treatment. The bronchial asthma was instantaneously overcome by my reading Science and Health.
