It is generally recognized that there is but one possible correct answer to a problem in arithmetic. Such is always the case with what are called scientific problems, problems involving permanent values and fixed relationships. However, it is not so generally recognized that there is, likewise, but one correct answer to what we call problems of living. This is because human thought has not been educated to understand that there is a Science of being which is based upon as changeless values and as immutable laws as mathematics.
One of the great textbooks on this Science of living, the Holy Bible, is quite explicit upon the subject. Sifting the divinely inspired passages and revelations of the Bible from the more material, historical record, we find clearly set forth the great fundamental truths of a perfect spiritual universe and a perfect spiritual man, both maintained forever at the point of perfection by the immutable laws of God.
Hence the correct answer to any problem concerning the condition of man or the universe is found to be in perfection. Furthermore, since man is forever God's likeness, the answer to all problems concerning the nature of man lies in godliness—in whatever is true of God. Jesus of Nazareth, the great exponent of this Science, declared. "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father." And when Jesus was confronted with what seemed to the corporeal senses to be an evil condition—when he was confronted with men who were needy, sinful, diseased, maimed, dying, and dead—he obliterated the evil phenomenon as completely as a mathematician does faulty computations, and restored the true phenomenon of perfection, restored abundance, holiness, health, wholeness, and life—restored the expression of that which is Godlike.
