Testimonies of Healing

I wish to add my expression of gratitude...

From the October 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to add my expression of gratitude to my wife's testimony. The reports of instances of protection and healing which have occurred in the present war always kindle my flame of gratitude for Christian Science.

It was during the first World War that a student of this religion let her light so shine that my mother was led to take up the study of Christian Science. This woman had two sons overseas, and unlike many of the residents of our community, she never expressed fear or concern for her boys. She was serenely confident that her loved ones would return unharmed. My mother attributed this attitude to the woman's religion and asked her for some Christian Science literature, which was supplied. I was an infant at the time and was healed permanently of constipation by my mother's reading of the pamphlet given to her. In a few years we moved to a place where there was a branch church, and my sister and I began to attend the Christian Science Sunday School.

Those sixteen years of instruction were priceless. I often think how an equal number of years of formal schooling acquainted me with great works and their authors and the facts of the world about us, but it remained for instruction in Christian Science to acquaint me with God, divine Mind, so that I might realize His ever-present government of the universe, including man.
