My wife and I had been looking forward to a Christian Science lecture, which was to be given in the branch church of which we are both members.
Halfway through the lecture, however, I had the feeling of sleep coming over me. I thought, "This will not do; this is error which would keep me from seeing Truth." At this moment the lecturer was talking about man s oneness with God, and I had the feeling that at last I was beginning to understand God and my relationship to Him. Then I looked at the speaker and everything became very blurred. I thought that there must be something on my glasses. I took them off and found that I could see perfectly well! The glorious realization came to me that I should not need to wear glasses now, even though I had worn them since I was a small boy.
This was an instantaneous healing, for which I cannot express in words my gratitude. The clear understanding I gained from the speaker as he quoted Jesus' words (John 16:15), "All things that the Father hath are mine," gave me a sense of joy and gratitude, and at once these words were uppermost in my thought: "Good sight is in seeing God aright. God is good, and man is His image and likeness."
