I Wish to express my gratitude for always having been a student of Christian Science. When I was a very young child, my mother was healed through it of a supposedly incurable disease.
She had been told by the doctor in her home town that the only chance of her getting better was a change of climate, so she came to Boston,. Massachusetts, from the South. It was in the early days of Christian Science, and my mother was invited by a friend to attend one of the meetings. At the close of the meeting she knew she had found what she was looking for. She went home that night and threw away all her medicines. She bought a copy of Science and Health by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and was completely healed by reading and studying the book and attending the meetings. I was taken to these meetings too.
When the Sunday school was started, my mother enrolled me. I am grateful to say I have never taken medicine or come under the medical law, except when my children were born, and then only to comply with the law of the state. I had no prenatal care, for the practitioner and I knew that the only law is the law of God, and the births were very harmonious. My four children have all been reared in Christian Science, attending the Sunday school. The only serious difficulties any of them have ever had were a broken collarbone and bronchial pneumonia. These were healed through the understanding of Christian Science and the help of a practitioner.
