Testimonies of Healing

My interest was drawn toward Christian Science...

From the September 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My interest was drawn toward Christian Science because of two healings I witnessed—one of blindness, the other of organic trouble. Before this, I had condemned Christian Science, because I believed that it was based on spiritualism or some peculiar cult. My first attendance at a Christian Science church service proved how greatly mistaken I had been.

While reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I gained freedom from a heart condition of many years' standing. Continuing to read every day thereafter, I was healed of many other discords. The transformation was very noticeable to my friends and neighbors.

After a few weeks of reading the textbook, I was called upon to choose what course should be taken following a serious accident. I chose Christian Science help. The fear of bleeding to death was overcome through the help of a Christian Science practitioner. The healing of the wound was a little slow, for the reason that I had been believing in it as a reality. Being a newcomer to Christian Science, I found this lesson to be most valuable. It really was the beginning of spiritual progress for me.
