Fifteen years ago Christian Science was brought to our attention when we witnessed the healing of a little child of eczema. We called on a practitioner to learn what this Science was, and the explanation was so logical that we asked that specific work be done for us. The results were instantaneous and satisfying, and we began to study Science for ourselves.
In the intervening years we have had many proofs of the healing, inspiring, protecting, and providing love of God. Our children have had rapid healings of so-called infants' diseases. A dislocated jaw and a wrenched knee were quickly restored to their normal condition through the help of a practitioner. My wife was healed of pneumonia in a very short time, and I experienced instantaneous relief from what I believe was appendicitis.
Most gratifying is a recent demonstration of home. A change in position came as a result of my prayerful efforts to represent God better. Mary Baker Eddy states in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 454), "Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept." The change necessitated our moving to another city, my native city. Many expressed fear that because of the prevalent housing shortage we would not find a home in which to live. In each instance, however, this suggestion was handled by every member of our family as completely erroneous. We knew that our home — our consciousness of Love — was established at that time, not at some future time, and that we could not be deprived of what was rightfully ours or penalized for the accomplishment of a right purpose.
