I wish to express my gratitude for the comfort and protection Christian Science afforded me during a year with a construction battalion in the Solomon Islands.
I was often reminded of the expression "thus far and no farther" because of the many times that I experienced protection. In several instances I was pinned behind large crates weighing several thousand pounds, but each time God's loving care protected me from the crate or bundle. During unloading operations a large bundle of plywood slipped from the sling of the crane, and instead of being caught underneath the load I was thrown clear of it and was unhurt.
I am thankful to be able to say that medical help was unnecessary during a year of living in the jungle on supposedly disease-infested islands amidst much evidence of mortal mind.
