I feel it is time for me to express my gratitude for Christian Science and to tell of some healings which I have experienced. I am especially thankful for the Christian Science lectures, because it was through hearing one that I first became interested in this religion. I was not satisfied with my former religion and was sincerely seeking something better. Because of the love and goodness the lecturer expressed I knew I had found what I was searching for, although I did not understand a great deal of what he said. I began to study immediately.
I had been having trouble with my eyes for several years which resulted in pain and poor vision. After reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for a short time, the thought came that if Truth and Love could heal others they could also heal me. I visited a practitioner, had one treatment, and was healed instantly. About a month after this treatment I discovered that I was hearing perfectly with one ear in which I had been deaf for a number of years. These healings took place over ten years ago, and have been permanent.
For twelve years I had suffered from a heart condition, but this was healed after some months of study of the textbook and other Christian Science literature. No specific work was ever done on it, but it faded away as I gained a better understanding of God and man. Sick headaches, so severe that they prevented me from doing my work for two or three days at a time, were healed in one treatment. I have also been healed of an injured wrist ligament, a sprained ankle, burns, and painful spinal trouble. Fear of being alone at night was entirely overcome through the realization that wherever man is, divine Love enfolds him.
