I wish to express my profound gratitude for the blessing of Christian Science and for all the good it has brought into my life and into our home. In fact, I have been the beneficiary of so many of its activities, including the helpful and inspiring articles and testimonies published in the Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, that I can no longer keep silent.
Christian Science first came into my experience when I was a boy. My father experienced at that time a wonderful healing of inflammatory rheumatism while he was attending his first Wednesday evening testimony meeting in one of the branch churches. Our parents, very grateful, decided to apply for membership in the same branch church, while my two younger brothers and I attended the Sunday School. Since then we have experienced healings and benefits too numerous to relate here; but among others that I personally experienced in those earlier days was the healing of a bad case of ear trouble, which had bothered me during my early youth. After I had requested aid from a Christian Science practitioner, two abscesses broke, and healing came in a very short time. There was no return of the trouble, although the former family physician had predicted that only a surgical operation could cure it.
It was through the application of the understanding which I had acquired of the truth of Christian Science that I was led to take steps which gradually unfolded to me my career in the field of music and singing. All the good that has come to me has come in the degree that I have studied the Bible in conjunction with our textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and applied in my daily life to the best of my ability what I had learned.
