After our only son had suffered from a suppurating inflammation of the middle ear, first at the age of four and again at the age of six, he was attacked a third time with this complaint at the age of eight, this time so severely that neither our family doctor nor a specialist was able to cope with the disease. Weeks of confinement to a sickbed in a warm room had so weakened the child that my wife and I felt there was no prospect of improvement.
In our distress God sent us aid in the person of an aunt who had been helped in Christian Science and who had heard of our trouble. She explained this Science to us somewhat and gave us the address of a practitioner, whom I immediately went to see. He said he would take the case if I would not consult another doctor or use any more medical remedies. Although it was in the dead of winter, at his bidding I took the child to him, and after the first treatment the stream of pus lessened and in two days, after the second treatment, dried up altogether.
