At the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church in June reports are read as called for in Article XIII, Section I, of the Manual of The Mother Church. Included are "general reports from the Field." The latter are based on letters and reports received from branch churches and societies telling of interesting activities and steps of progress during the year just past. Excerpts are read from as many of these as the time allotted to that part of the program permits.
In order that ample time may be given to the consideration of the reports and letters sent in from the churches and societies throughout the Field, for use in the Annual Meeting to be held on June 5 this year, it will be helpful to have them in the office of The Christian Science Board of Directors as soon as possible after April 1, and not later than May 1.
LECTURE INFORMATION
For some time it has been the custom for members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, after several years of service thereon, to reserve a period to be devoted particularly to the study and practice of Christian Science. Mr. Earl E. Simms
Mr. Robert S. Van Atta
Mr. Ralph E. Wagers
Mrs. Elisabeth F. Norwood and Dr. Walton Hubbard each have signified a desire to retire permanently from the Board of Lectureship at the end of the present lecture year in order that their entire time may be devoted to the work of teaching and practicing Christian Science.

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP—WHAT IT MEANS
Church membership is not so much an end as it is a means of greater spiritual accomplishments. The mere formal act of uniting with The Mother Church is not the whole obligation of membership. But the deeply felt acceptance of membership brings bountiful blessings.
In the textbook of Christian Science,Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes: " (p. 35), "We can unite with this church only as we are new-born of Spirit, as we reach the Life which is Truth and the Truth which is Life by bringing forth the fruits of Love,— casting out error and healing the sick." And on page 15 of her work "Miscellaneous Writings" Mrs. Eddy encouragingly writes: "The new birth is not the work of a moment. It begins with moments and goes on with years." It is the purpose of The Mother Church to further the "new birth" in individual human experience.
Applicants are admitted to membership twice each year by The Christian Science Board of Directors under the provisions of Article XIII, Section 2, of the Church Manual. To be considered for the next admission of members, applications, with their accompanying questionnaires, must reach the Clerk not later than Monday, May 1, 1950. The admission date is June 2, 1950.
Application blanks and information concerning church membership may be obtained at Christian Science Reading Rooms, from practitioners listed in The Christian Science Journal, or from clerks of branch churches and societies. Application blanks may also be obtained from Gordon V. Comer, Clerk, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
TENETS OF THE MOTHER CHURCH
The Tenets of The Mother Church are copyrighted, and for this reason branch churches and societies are not permitted to print them or to have them printed. But they may be obtained through the Clerk of The Mother Church in two sizes in English alone or in the following translations with the English text: French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Polish.
The large size (5 x 8) is used as a basis for membership blanks. The small size (4 x 6) is used for binding into by-law booklets. Space is provided so that a local printer may add whatever is necessary to meet the particular requirements of the branch organizations.

NOTICE TO CORRESPONDENTS
Officers of branch churches and individuals who have occasion to correspond with The Christian Science Board of Directors, with the Clerk and the Treasurer of The Mother Church, and with the heads of departments of The Mother Church Offices are requested always to place their addresses on their letters and to write their signatures plainly. Women are requested to use the title "Miss" or "Mrs." as the fact maybe, and to use their Christian names. The co-operation of correspondents is solicited.
INSTRUCTIONS WITH REMITTANCE
Quite frequently checks and money orders are received by the Publishing Society with nothing to indicate whether the remittance is to be applied to subscriptions, advertising, or Journal cards, to mention a few of our accounts. This means that sometimes days are spent trying to determine where the money should be applied, and in the end, perhaps, the sender must be asked for further information. If instructions always accompany remittances, orders can lie handled more promptly and correctly.
FOR FASTER SERVICE ON YOUR ADDRESS CHANGE
You can receive faster, more efficient service if at least three weeks before a change of address you will give ALL the following information:
(1) Name, former address, name of each periodical subscribed for, and if on the Convenient Payment Plan
(2) New address (street, city, postal zone, state)
It has been found that changes of address are not practical under two weeks for The Christian Science Monitor and under one month for the other Christian Science periodicals.
SUBMITTING TESTIMONIES
Convincing testimonies of healing in Christian Science are welcomed for publication. A testimony should be concise and include only the important points necessary to tell of the healing. This will enable more testimonies to be published. Testimonies should be verified by three members of The Mother Church who know of the healing or can vouch for the integrity of the testifier. If the testifier is unacquainted with three members, his affidavit may be sufficient, but in this case he should, if possible, obtain verification from one or two members. The testifier should submit the verifications with the testimony. Complete addresses of the testifier and his vouchers should be furnished.
Testimonies should be addressed to Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editorial Department, One, Norway Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
