I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science. Whenever I have put this wonderful teaching into practice, it has brought me blessings and deliverance. Through the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I have learned to understand the Bible better and to pray aright.
One day, a few years ago, one of my teeth ached very badly. As this particular tooth had previously had work done on it, I went to the dentist. He removed the gold crown and took an X-ray picture. He told me that the tooth was badly ulcerated and that the jawbone was already affected. He advised me to have the bridgework removed altogether. I hesitated for a moment and asked him whether there was any other solution. He said he knew of none; that the bridge-work no longer had any support, and he could not imagine how softened bone substance could become hard again.
When I heard the word "substance," I realized that in Christian Science I had learned that Spirit is the only substance of man. I asked the dentist to wait before beginning the work, and we made an appointment for two days later. He was very kind and told me I might come to him at any time, should the pain become unbearable.
