In the nine years I have been studying Christian Science, I have been healed, guided, and greatly helped, and I am grateful to the practitioners for their patient and loving work. When I began studying Christian Science, I was immediately healed of the smoking habit. The work of the practitioner, who gave me much time during a difficult period, also protected me from impetuous and unwise relationships. Her explanations of Biblical episodes enabled me to read the Scriptures, for although I was a journalist, the language of the Bible had been almost unintelligible to me.
When I moved to another city and was confronted with problems of shelter, work, and supply, I was led through a testimony appearing in the Journal to call a certain practitioner. A few minutes' talk with her lifted me from the confusion I was manifesting at that time, and the same day I found a temporary home with a Christian Scientist. Later, when I needed my own home and another job, I found both within an hour after asking a practitioner for help. I was particularly grateful for finding a comfortable, reasonably priced, and conveniently located apartment, because it was during the war and I was situated in an overcrowded area.
I have been healed of a severe case of poison oak on my face. It cleared up completely with no itching and little discomfort in ten days, although the predictions were that it would take weeks to overcome this condition.
