Many years ago I began to suffer from a glandular swelling which caused me much discomfort and interfered with my walking. For six years I was treated by physicians in two large cities, but received no benefit. An eminent specialist declared that only surgery could save my life, and that I must be operated on at once. That day I met a friend who told me that he had given up his former religion and had taken up Christian Science. When he heard I was about to undergo an operation, he advised me to see a Christian Science practitioner. Up to that time I had been prejudiced against what I thought Christian Science was. But I consented to go, and after the first treatment I changed my opinion about this religion and realized it could help me. After the second treatment I found myself walking through the park with as much freedom as I used to have when I was the center on a football team. With the third treatment I realized that I was completely healed. I have never had the slightest return of the trouble in the years since then.
I thank God for Christian Science and for Mrs. Eddy, and I am grateful to my friend who brought this Science to my attention. I give this testimony hoping that someone who is suffering will turn to the light and be healed as I was.— Eagle Rock, Virginia.
