One of my greatest blessings has been the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School for many years, because by applying Christian Science as I was taught, I have been able to solve numerous problems. Many healings have taken place, and discordant conditions in my home and office have been worked out harmoniously. Although I have never had an abundance of money, I have never lacked anything that was necessary for my well-being.
When a change of position in the organization where I work was offered to me, I found it difficult to decide whether or not to accept it. I spent several days comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the new position with those of the one I was then holding. Needless to say, with this sort of reasoning I was unable to come to any decision. I asked if I might have the week end to think the proposition over more clearly and was told that I must decide by Monday. I realized that I must change my thinking, that I must stop all human reasoning and turn completely to the one Mind, God, to guide me. I wanted to be in a position where I could serve the organization to the best of my ability.
After diligently praying for the right answer, I finally said: "God, it's up to You. Where do You want me?" When I went to work on Monday, I still did not know what the answer would be, but when I was finally called into the manager's office, it came quite clearly to me from Mind to accept the offer. I took over the new work within an hour, and three days later I was informed that my salary would have a substantial increase, effective immediately. This has proved to be the right move because it has been a joyous experience and has brought me many blessings, including more substantial raises in salary.
