While I was talking to a friend recently on the subject of gratitude it came to me that I have so much to be grateful for that a testimony from me should be forthcoming. Christian Science has met my every need when the divine Principle of this Science has been earnestly and honestly applied. Main lessons have been learned along the way, and complete reliance on God has had to be exercised. I have learned that we must express an inclusive, expansive, and unselfed love that embraces all, even those who we feel are the cause of our problems.
With the help of consecrated practitioners I learned to see man as a spiritual idea, perfect, loving, lovable, and loved. Through this unfoldment I saw a dear one healed of alcoholism, infidelity, and unemployment. During the very trying period before the healing was completed I learned patience and gratitude. I cannot say I was always grateful for my trials, but I am grateful for the spiritual growth they necessitated and the opportunity they brought to prove the allness and ever-presence of God.
Through the study of Christian Science I learned that the demonstration of harmony and completeness is not the result of the action of the human mind, but the outward manifestation of the ever-operative Principle of the Science of being. It came to me that life is never futile or incomplete if it contains the unction of unselfed love, for thoughts expand into broader and higher attainments when motivated by pure love.
