With gratitude and humility I offer this testimony of my healings, for which I am more grateful than words can express. I owe my life to Christian Science, and I acknowledge my love for its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy.
It is now more than thirty-four years since I received my first healing through Science. This healing came about in a rooming house, where I met a gentleman who gave me some pamphlets on Christian Science, which I put in my bookcase. That night I was seized with fear and broke out in perspiration. Being unable to sleep, I rose to get something to read, and my hand fell on the pamphlets. I took one of them and read no more than three paragraphs. I was instantly healed.
Prior to this healing I had been an unbeliever in God. To me the Bible was merely history, full of good stories. Now it is an open book, and the healings I once called stories I now know to be demonstrations of spiritual power, achievements based on divine Principle. Now I have a practical religion, something to live for with joy and happiness.
