When Christian Science was first presented to me I was hungry for the truth, and comfort came from my reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It has continued to be a constant inspiration.
From early childhood I was afraid— afraid of the dark, of storms, of strangers, and of being left alone. As the fatherhood and motherhood of God began to unfold to me through this precious textbook, and as man's unity with his creator was realized in some degree, I was healed of those fears. The peace of mind I now experience is beyond description.
My family and I have been protected on long motor trips. On one occasion we drove six thousand miles without having a moment of trouble. The Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly was read aloud each morning as we rode along, and we saw expressions of God's beauty everywhere.
