The periodicals of the Christian Science movement are like a voice reaching over continent and ocean. For years I have received inspiration, comfort, and encouragement from the testimonies in the Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel; now I wish to give my testimony.
I was healed of a sprained ankle simply by reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for about half an hour. One member of our family was healed of a goiter of many years' standing. Only three visits to a Christian Science practitioner were required to complete the healing. The goiter completely disappeared and has never returned. Another member of the family was healed of a severe injury to the kneecap in just a few weeks without any other aid than Christian Science treatment.
One of our sons enlisted in the Navy as a flyer and was a member of a bombing crew for about four years during World War II. We were completely healed of fear for his safety, and he returned unharmed and with numerous decorations given to those who had been in the thick of the fighting. The story of David and Goliath inspired us to know that a son could be sent to war for a righteous cause and come out victorious. Every night upon retiring we were blessed with the angel thought from Mrs. Eddy's poem "The Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4), in which she says,
