The testimonies in our periodicals have been such a help to me that I should like to relate some of my healings, hoping they may be helpful to someone else. So many physical problems were mine that my life seemed one long night of misery. Besides having a sinus condition and a bad heart, I was kept on a very strict diet, as my digestive organs were not functioning properly.
When Christian Science was first presented to me it gave me hope, but I continued for a time with the doctors. As I was not getting any better, I turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science and threw out all my medicines. It was a joy when I could eat a meal with no bad aftereffects. Soon the other discordant conditions disappeared also. Since then I have been healed of pleurisy, and the healing has been permanent. Many faults of character have been corrected; and the knowledge that I am in spiritual reality a child of God is cause for rejoicing.
About seven years ago I awoke one morning and found it very difficult to move or to think clearly. My daughter called a practitioner, and in a short time I could declare the truth for myself. A little later I talked to the practitioner, and she continued to help me. At eleven o'clock I was downtown, where I was employed, and remained there throughout the day. Though I was not entirely free at first, the difficulty soon disappeared.
A few years ago I had a very irritating rash all over my body with the exception of my face. A practitioner helped me, and I devoted all my time to study. The healing was not a rapid one, but it was complete; and I gained much from my hours of study.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for the privilege of serving on committees, and for class instruction. That my daughter attended the Christian Science Sunday School and has had many healings gives me great happiness. Words cannot express my gratitude for the many proofs I have had of God's care and for the life of unselfish devotion of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy. For the periodicals she so wisely provided for us and for what Christian Science is doing for the whole world, I give thanks to God.— Pasadena, California.
