For the past thirty years, when rightly applied, Christian Science has met my every need. In my family, healings of heart trouble and eye infection have taken place. Many valuable lessons have been learned, and much progress has been made in my journey from sense to Soul.
A number of years ago an abscess formed at the end of my spine. I had a practitioner help me and in a week the abscess opened and drained during the night. I got up in the morning and went about my business as if nothing had happened. Some few years later another abscess began to form in the same place. Help was requested of a practitioner, and the abscess did not develop, but disappeared. Prayerful work was continued until all belief that I was subject to such conditions was eradicated from my consciousness, and the difficulty has not recurred.
While going to work one Friday morning, I sprained my ankle. I had to cross the street to get to the building where I worked, and as I hobbled there, the pain was so intense that I felt faint. There was no place for me to sit; so I just leaned against the wall and repeated "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468). This enabled me to go on to my office, and when I got there I called a practitioner for help. After that the only pain I had was when I walked. About two o'clock the manager told me to go home, as the foot was badly swollen. When I arrived home I got the Bible and Science and Health and read for some time. While I was there alone the telephone rang, and when I got up to answer it I found that I could walk without any pain. The next morning the foot was normal; I could wear my shoe and was completely free. When I walked into the office on Monday morning the manager was greatly surprised.
