One of the hymns in our Christian Science Hymnal reminds us (No. 139), "Give of your heart's rich overflow." For the manifold blessings that the study of Christian Science has brought into my experience, I wish to give of my "heart's rich overflow" of gratitude. Since childhood, when I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, I have had daily proofs of God's motivation, guidance, and protective care, as well as healings of both mental and physical inharmonies.
Throughout my military experience it was my privilege to realize that I was even then "about my Father's business." During many of the long walking journeys for which the infantry is noted, these words from the Christian Science Hymnal were my mainstay (No. 139):
I walk with Love along the way,
And O, it is a holy day;
No more I suffer cruel fear,
I feel God's presence with me here;
The joy that none can take away
Is mine; I walk with Love today.
