Good Business

From the May 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Who works in quiet obedience works in peace:
He hears the Father's voice, and feels His hand.
From anxious planning he has won release,
And where he is he finds the promised land.

Who waits on God most truly rests in action,
His motives whole, his busyness serene.
His purpose pure can suffer no distraction;
No vague hypotheses can intervene.

Who looks to Soul beholds divine abundance,
The affluence of infinite ideas;
And gratitude flows in with such effulgence
As dissipates the poverty of fears.

Who knows himself as Principle's expression
Has might and meekness wherewith to discern
Each forward step, each needful, right decision.
New views of justice will he daily learn.

Who knows his brother as he knows himself
Knows all is under Love's divine control.
He strives for spiritual gain, a sacred wealth:
He and his business both are healed and whole.
