Spiritual Intuitions

From the May 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christly thoughts are like stars.
When first they appear to the individual consciousness,
they seem distant and indistinct;
but as we continue steadfastly to behold them,
they grow in beauty and number and order.

Angel thoughts are like songs.
When first they are heard by the listening ear.
they seem like a fragment, a faraway sound:
but as we faithfully listen, their soft music swells
until we are enveloped in heavenly harmony.

God's thoughts are His love.
When first we obey their tender compelling,
we feel lost in an infinite sea of desire;
but desire becomes prayer, and true prayer makes us one
with the star and the song and the Father-Mother of all.
