During nearly two decades, Christian Science has been my faithful companion. It has given me a more spiritual understanding of God and of man as His expression. Thus it has brought a great many beautiful experiences to me and mine.
At one time I was taken to the hospital with severe blood poisoning and erysipelas. For six weeks I was delirious with a high fever most of the time. Instead of getting better, I grew worse; and in addition to the other troubles, tuberculosis developed. The physician no longer permitted even my family to visit me, and he himself came only to check on my heart action.
Finally the opportunity came to inform a Christian Science friend of mine of my condition. At my request this friend got in touch with a practitioner, and she worked for me at once. The night following this first absent treatment I slept normally again for the first time in weeks. I awoke free from fever, and during the morning I was able to read and to answer a loving letter from the practitioner as well as to study profitably a Christian Science lecture she had sent. I was uplifted by a wonderful feeling of peace and of unity with God. Soon I was able to get up, and in a few days I was taken home; and the last symptoms of illness quickly disappeared.
