Each day of my life I have a renewed sense of gratitude for Christian Science and for the many blessings and healings I have experienced. I found this religion when I was facing a surgical operation, and the explanations of a Christian Science practitioner who was called upon for help were so clear to me that I felt God could do all that was needed. Through her loving and consecrated help a great sense of fear which had engulfed me was overcome. The operation was not performed, and I was completely healed. Our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, writes on page 231 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "What God cannot do, man need not attempt." This quotation was a great inspiration to me, and I gave consecrated study to learn more of the truth of being. Since that time Christian Science has met my every need.
One day I slipped and caught hold of a rough board to keep from falling, and although I did not fall, I received a great many splinters in my hand. The next day several places on my hand were badly swollen and festered. I realized that I could establish harmony in my experience through claiming man's present perfection, knowing that in reality there are no accidents and that this false picture was nothing but an illusion. Within a few days all the splinters worked out of the hand, with no soreness or inconvenience to me.
I have experienced wonderful inspiration as a result of class instruction from a consecrated teacher of Christian Science, for which I shall be ever grateful. I am grateful also that my husband and I could go through class together, and that we both have the precious privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church.
