Because problems of place and supply...

From the September 1957 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Because problems of place and supply confront almost everyone at some time, it may encourage others now facing these problems for me to tell of my experience, the lessons I learned from it, and the wonderful blessings resulting from the diligent application of Christian Science.

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy tells us (p. 574), "The very circumstance, which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares." Some time ago I had what I felt was a very untoward and unhappy experience. After much prayerful thought, I had taken a certain step to correct an erroneous condition in the firm for which I worked. This step accomplished its purpose and blessed many individuals. However, it aroused a sense of animosity, and subsequently I found myself without a position.

Because of this, a great sense of injustice and hurt filled my thought to such an extent that I came down with an illness from which it was difficult to arise. Because the whole problem seemed very real to me, I asked for help in Christian Science and earnestly endeavored to know that only God governs man.
