THE MISSION OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COLLEGE ORGANIZATIONS

From the September 1957 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"As mortals gain more correct views of God and man, multitudinous objects of creation, which before were invisible, will become visible," declares Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 264). It is the duty of Christian Scientists to gain these correct views of creation and to awaken men to the infinite joys of things spiritual and the transitory nature of matter.

In colleges and universities, Christian Scientists have a special opportunity to help fellow students awaken spiritually through the Christian Science college organizations. These organizations are maintained according to Rules given by Mrs. Eddy in the Manual of The Mother Church.

Before the members of an organization can bring spiritual blessings to others, they themselves must be alert to the truths of being and be able to prove them. Each member must clean and tidy his own mental home and make sure that he is governed by the laws of divine Principle and that he expresses Love in every activity. Then each member will contribute to the good of the organization, and the organization will stand out in the college as "a city that is set on an hill" (Matt. 5:14).
