"My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour" (Luke 1:46, 47). Many years ago my little daughter had an annoying kidney condition that caused her to be very restless in school. Someone recommended that we try Christian Science. At the time, I was under a doctor's care, and he told me that unless I continued to take the injections he was giving me I might pass on suddenly. However, I stopped taking them and got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner, who spoke to me about God's loving care for His children. She treated my daughter and me, and we both had healings. That was twenty-seven years ago, and what glorious unfoldment has come through those years!
Before I knew this practitioner I was subject to fits of depression. There were times I felt I might take my own life. I was ashamed to tell the practitioner this until I was healed, and then, to my surprise, she told me she had sensed the condition.
Through the years there were many healings of every member of the family. My daughter was healed of a serious skin disease which had caused her to fall behind in her schooling. The time lost was made up by our holding to the truth (Joel 2:25), "I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten." After her marriage, this daughter was healed of a serious infection which occurred when her first child was born. My husband was healed of sick headaches and the use of tobacco. During the time of gas rationing and tire shortage we drove thirty-five miles to a Christian Science Society, in which I was serving as Reader, and there was never a time that we had trouble on the way.
