"The kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it" (Matt. 13:45, 46). Christian Science truly has become to me the "pearl of great price," that is, I have come to appreciate it at its real value, as the greatest gift that God has given to men since the time of Christ Jesus.
I have had the privilege of attending the Sunday School from an early age, and I shall always remember with affectionate gratitude my teachers' earnestness and sincerity in imparting the truth to our young ears. Also, I want to thank the practitioners who have readily answered my calls for help when it was needed. Once, when I had to undergo a series of examinations at the university, I requested treatment. Owing to the work that was done by a practitioner, I felt upheld during the whole session, and I made the best marks of my academic years, in a few cases receiving the top marks.
It was not until I went abroad, however, that Christian Science became my most precious asset. I remember one day while I was traveling that I read a notice from The Mother Church, of which I had recently become a member. I felt that The Mother Church was enfolding me, no matter where I was, and that it was watching over my progress.
