Probably every intelligent individual ponders the following questions: What is the reason or justification for my existence on earth? and, Must I die in order to be released from the trials and tribulations of this world, and to find harmony? In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 486): "Earth's preparatory school must be improved to the utmost. In reality man never dies. The belief that he dies will not establish his scientific harmony. Death is not the result of Truth but of error, and one error will not correct another."
A child starting in the kindergarten of a modern school system does not realize that he is entering an educational period which may go on for from twelve to twenty years and that this preparation is for an even longer period of useful service to others and satisfaction to himself.
The scholastic program, which we consider so important in the human community, may be likened to "earth's preparatory school" of which Mrs. Eddy speaks and which enables one to progress toward the understanding: and demonstration of eternal Life.
