MAKE NOTHING OF IT

From the June 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When one inadvertently jostles another in a crowd and says regretfully, "I beg your pardon," it is rather pleasant to hear the other reply, "Oh, that is all right; make nothing of it." Having made nothing of it, each goes his own way, and the incident is forgiven and usually forgotten.

Students of Christian Science sometimes use the expression, "Make nothing of it," in their efforts to destroy the many phases of evil. For example, when a child comes running to its mother after a painful fall or bump, the mother may dry the child's tears and say, "Now let us be quiet, and let us make nothing of the whole thing, as we are taught to do in Christian Science."

As the mother brings her understanding of the allness of God, divine Principle, and of man in His image and likeness, to bear upon the problem, the error is nullified and replaced with harmony and peace.
