Many are the blessings which have come...

From the June 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Many are the blessings which have come to me through the study and sincere application of Christian Science. Among them are membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, with the privilege of serving the latter in a number of capacities. Church membership has helped greatly during the years to alleviate the feeling of not belonging anywhere or to anyone, especially after both my parents passed on.

When reading our textbook through for the first time, I found to my surprise and joy that I was healed of constipation, from which I had suffered for as long as I could remember. It was comforting to learn that God is Love, Father, Mother. Mrs. Eddy tells us, "He is man's only real relative on earth and in heaven" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 151). This understanding gave me needed courage to endure and to heal, with the help of a practitioner, the tensions that often arose in a home where no one else was interested in this religion and where there was some opposition to it.

A complete healing of grippe occurred overnight. Prior to taking up the study of Christian Science, I had required three weeks partially to recover from an attack of this illness.
