No Unknown Destiny

From the May 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My destiny is in the outstretched hands
Of One who guides my way. His countenance
Is turned to me. Not in the shifting sands
Of time nor in the passing whims of chance
Do I repose my trust. No fateful star
Directs my course. Rich heritage I claim
To be my own; His plans through ages are
Unchanged and firm, eternally the same.

My yesterday—a page for yesteryear;
Today is mine! Tomorrow's tapestry
Is patterned by His will. I do not fear
Nor doubt in awe some unknown destiny,
For when I walk with God the way is shown;
There is true destiny where God is known.
