SPIRITUAL PROGRESS SEPARATES THE TARES AND THE WHEAT

From the May 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

During that brief period in which Christ Jesus sojourned with mankind, he was demonstrating God's law of progress, and he was proving to the world for all time to come that spiritual progress separates the false human sense of things from the true.

Through the study of Christian Science, discovered and founded by Mrs. Eddy, we soon discern the importance of following closely the teachings of the master Christian and his method of removing the ills of the flesh. Properly understood and applied, God's law of progress brings harmony and enlightenment to human consciousness, and at the same time destroys erroneous beliefs heretofore entertained.

By precept and parable Jesus taught mankind how to discern reality and how to separate it from unreality. With his parable of the tares and wheat, as recorded in the thirteenth chapter of Matthew, he indicates how God's law of progress functions to separate at a proper time good from evil, both of which appear to the corporeal sense to unite or commingle.
