The understanding of what Christian Science really is came to me at a time of mental torment due to discordant relationships. In humility I had reached the point where I was praying, "Please, God, show me the right thing to do," and when a dear one spoke to me of the fact that God is the one Mind, one Soul, one Spirit, I saw at once that this is so. I did not look back; I was freed of the mental torment, and the purpose and adventure of life for which I had been looking in the wrong direction were revealed to me, and I was eager to step out into the Christian Science way. To me, this was to be done through the church organization so that I could give as I went. I have been truly grateful that I saw the rightness of this, because I have seen others lured into error's bypaths as they hesitated to commit themselves to God.
I had found the divine Principle of harmony, Love. Like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle falling into place, all my questions on life and religion were resolved. To learn of God as Principle and to learn the true meaning of salvation and the clear distinction between Jesus and the Christ have meant the most of all to me in this religion.
As tests of my spiritual understanding have come, I have sometimes had to ask a practitioner for treatment, but the erroneous condition has always been overcome with consequent growth in spirituality. God's promise has been fulfilled in my experience many times (Isa. 65: 24), "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."
